Where the heat actually goes

The driver detaches from the frame and can be mounted outside the tent, which pulls a chunk of the fixture's thermal load out of the canopy zone. Photontek lists the difference as 2,201 BTU/h with the driver attached versus 2,047 BTU/h with it remote, small on its own, but in a sealed tent that's the kind of margin that keeps a heat load from creeping into problem territory during summer runs or in rooms without dedicated AC.

Full spectrum, tuned toward flower

The LM301H EVO diodes lay down a broad white spectrum across blue, green, and red, while the Osram 4.24 diodes add a concentrated push around 660nm, the red wavelength chlorophyll uses most efficiently during flowering and fruit set. The two diode types are distributed evenly across all six bars, so the ratio of wavelengths stays consistent whether a plant is sitting under the center of the canopy or off toward an edge, at a claimed 120-degree spread that supports true 5x5 ft coverage.

Control that scales with your setup

An included 0-10V dimmer with five steps (off, 25, 50, 75, 100 percent) covers a single tent without any fuss. Growers running multiple rooms, or who want sunrise/sunset ramping and finer 1% dimming resolution, can step up to Photontek's optional Digital Controller, which is built to daisy chain up to 100 fixtures. Any third-party 0-10V controller will also talk to this light.

Weatherproofing that's more than a rating on a box

Every diode is coated in a clear glue layer that Photontek says holds 99% light transmittance, noticeably higher than typical conformal coatings, while also sealing the bars to an IP65 rating against dust and moisture. Combined with the tool-free frame assembly, it's a fixture built to be handled and cleaned without babying it.

Who this suits

This is a fixture for a genuine 5x5 ft tent or grow space looking for one light to run seedling through flower without swapping spectrums or bulbs. It also makes sense for anyone already running a Photontek 2.9 fixture who wants more photon output on the same frame and hanging hardware, since the driver and dimmer generation carries over (note that 3.1 bars are not cross-compatible with the older 2.7 driver). Growers who want extra far-red for Emerson effect supplementation can add Photontek's separate 50W far-red bar, which snaps straight onto the same frame.
